Social thinking is “the process by which we interpret the thoughts, beliefs, intentions, emotions, knowledge and actions of another person along with the context of the situation to understand that person’s experience”.
The Social Thinking Program® is a framework which provides tools and assists with developing skills and shared language to improve social competencies. It helps participants learn how to engage in social information including how to attend, interpret, problem solve and respond in a situation.
The Social Thinking concepts can be incorporated in to occupational therapy sessions at MoveAbout. However, it is best presented in a group where children can share experiences and ideas as they learn together.
